I am in day 4 of my Memorial Day weekend. It has been an exciting one. It started off on Friday with a Half Day at work, and a motorcycle ride with Austin. The last time I rode, there was still snow on the ground heading out too the coast. This ride was more of a random exploratory ride, and we hit two dead end roads, that were very enjoyable. We managed to avoid all of the Memorial weekend traffic, so I was pleased with that outcome.
Friday evening was a low key movie night. I watched Flash Point, a
Donnie Yen martial arts flick with Hyun. The movie was a nice martial
arts exhibition, not so much love was given to the story or acting.
Saturday
started off early, as I left the house shortly before 7am to head to
the Men's Ministry. Apparently it was canceled for
Memorial weekend. Instead I got to enjoy the morning with the family,
as Rea pushed the girls on her 5mi run, and I followed along on the
bike. After a Costco run and a session of cleaning the grill and a
nap, we BBQ'd some chicken skewers, steaks strips, and asparagus. The
Le's joined us, as well as Hyun. They provided desert which was the
frozen treats, inside actual fruit shells. The movie for the evening
was Paul Blart, Mall Cop. Nothing to write home about, but a cute
flick to enjoy with the family.
Sunday started off early, Rea and
I started our P90x 90 day training. It kicked our butts, but was a
pleasure to work out together with Rea. Church was hard, as it was
shortly after the passing of Scott Resnick, husband to Holly Resnick.
I know Holly from working with her to make her website. Oddly enough
other that seeing her perform, I have never actually met Holly. Still,
it saddens me to hear of her loss, but I am strengthened by how strong
her faith is, and how she is holding together. One can only imagine
the amount of support that has poured in for her.
Anywho, we had our traditional Chip+Chili Dip lunch an dI washed the car on Sunday prepping it for the Wax party on Monday. Another nap and a low key evening with leftovers for dinner. :) I stayed up late playing video games, and honing my faded MK skills.
Monday
was the big Wax day. Austin and Kurt rolled in shortly after 10am, and
we began. They both started off by masking their cars, while I clay
barred the 7. They both had finished waxing and detailing by the time
I had finished clay barring. haha. Process took a bit more elbow
grease than I thought. The results definitely worth the investment.
After a delicious Dominos Pizza for lunch, and some mediocre Little
Ceasars breadsticks, Austin and Kurt assisted me in finally waxing my
car. I am very pleased with the outcome, and should probably take some
pics ;) Even with the imperfections and faults in the paint, she's a
beauty.
After the girls' nap, we grilled up the remaining
steak strips, marinated for 3 days. Mmmm, it was phenomenal. Hyun
joined us for dinner, and my sister Jennifer made it into town and made
it over for the movie of the evening, Man on Fire. I had not seen this
movie yet, and it was recommended. It did not disappoint. I thought
it was a good movie. A bit gruesome though, but enjoyable. I finished off my evening with a session of P90x plyometrics.
